Billy Hinson is the director of The Amanda Ranch. With his genuine warmth and extensive experience in business, Billy is known for his well-rounded character. His former successes and greatest trials have created the impeccably balanced combination of gentle yet driven leadership, making him the ideal leader in his current role.
His foray into leadership started on the football field at Hilliard High School in Hilliard, Florida. As a three-year starter, he earned All-State, All-Conference, and All-American honors, along with becoming Florida’s weightlifting champion his senior year. Billy was recruited by several SEC and ACC schools, accepting a full athletic football scholarship to the University of Florida in 1981.
As a Florida Gator offensive guard, Billy lettered from 1982 to 1984 and was a game captain in 1984. He also was selected as third team All–SEC, playing on Florida’s first ever SEC championship team as part of the legendary “Great Wall of Florida,” of which the entire line was later drafted by the NFL. Drafted in the fifth round of the 1985 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos, he continued honing his team leadership skills on the football field until he retired from football in 1988 with the Atlanta Falcons.
Since then, he has devoted over thirty-three years to professional excellence and success through regional and national account sales with a ranked Fortune 500 company. His belief in the need for human kindness in a broken world has led him to retire early to bring his quality leadership skills to The Amanda Ranch.
While society would easily deem him as prosperous, Billy credits his life’s success to what God has done for him. Billy was saved as a young child and grew up in a loving, Christian home. Although he had moments when he struggled, he overcame much with God’s help, and he knows what it is like to endure the storms of life. He said, “I have felt the pain of my own personal setbacks and heartaches. I have watched loved ones experience grief and try to pick up the broken pieces. I know one thing for sure: There is hope! No storm will last forever.”
He believes firmly that The Amanda Ranch is the perfect place to facilitate the hope needed by the hurting. With palpable conviction, Billy has stated, “We all struggle differently and hurt differently, but our need of hope and to know there will be a tomorrow is the same. The Amanda Ranch mirrors the heart of God with ‘learn to do well’ by helping others, relieving their pain and enabling recovery. I think Isaiah 1:17 best says what I believe the mission of The Amanda Ranch to be, Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.”

The generous donations of our supporters allow people to visit the ranch for a time of rest after a loss or trial to begin the healing process. Time can stand still for a moment for these individuals allowing them to process what happened and begin to move forward.
With The Amanda Ranch being a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all donations are tax-deductible.
